The Innkeepers would like to extend and invitation to you to return for a time to the quiet luxury of the 19th Century. Built at the end of the Civil War in 1865 for a prominent Wheat Merchant, the Red Gables Inn is a charming mixture of Greek Revival and Italianate architecture prominent of that era. Today the Inn has been thoughtfully restored. Printed wall coverings and trim, authentically duplicated as exquisite examples of the period have been placed throughout the Inn. Period antiques appoint each room creating an inviting ambiance of past splendor and elegance, while reproduction beds offer the comforts of today. Guests are invited to enjoy complimentary Twilight Wine and Hors D'oeuvres in the comfort of our Parlor, in the Fireside Dining room or on the Porch, providing an opportunity to meet other guests prior to dining in one of the area restaurants. Parlor games, piano and a variety of reading material encourage our guests to unwind, relax and enjoy the atmosphere of the Inn before climbing the walnut staircase to their individually appointed rooms to retire.
